Evaluations

EVALUATIONS

An evaluation will asses the child's skills in the areas of concern. Evaluations typically take 1-1.5 hours and include parent input, conversation, observation, therapist-client interaction, and standardized testing if possible.

Following the evaluation, recommendations will be made and a therapy plan will be formed with the family. The speech-language pathologist will write a report of the findings, create a plan of care, and recommended therapy goals.

EARLY INTERVENTION SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY FOR CHILDREN BIRTH TO 3 YEARS OLD

Speech and language therapy is a thoughtful combination of direct interaction with the child, parent coaching, collaboration, and education to addresses:

  • Delayed speech and language

  • Vocabulary development

  • Difficulty following directions

  • Concept development

  • Play skills

  • Social interaction

  • Reduced attention

  • Literacy/book skills

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Developmental delays

We help caregivers focus on what the child is able to do and guide parents to expand upon those skills to help their child move along the continuum of development. Using developmentally appropriate activities focused on literacy, self-regulation, communication, play skills, and social interaction, we help parents identify opportunities for ongoing practice within daily routines and play.

Our goal is to empower the most important people in our clients' lives: their families.

PRIVATE SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY FOR CHILDREN 4 TO 18 YEARS OLD

Speech and language therapy for school-aged children and teens utilizes evidenced-based therapy approaches to addresses:

  • Articulation disorders (how speech sounds)

  • Phonological disorders (speech sound patterns

  • Expressive language (vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure)

  • Receptive language (auditory comprehension)

  • Fluency/stuttering

We work directly with the child to target skills based on developmentally appropriate goals. Parents are always welcome to be an active member of our sessions. At the end of each session, we dedicate time to check in with parents and review new skills and make home practice recommendations.

Our goal is to empower each child with the skills necessary to achieve lasting communication success.
